Whataburger — Menu Prices, Survey and Employee Access

Whataburger is roughly 81% company-operated — 879 of 1,085 units, with only 206 franchised, on the Franchise Times ranking published for 2025. That matters when four price aggregators quote the plain Whataburger at $3.00, $3.09, $5.19 and $6.52, and one of them prints $6.52 and $4.79 on the same page. A franchised chain can blame independent owners for a spread like that. A chain running four restaurants in five cannot. The aggregators are wrong, not the market.

879 company restaurants, 206 franchised, and why the price pages fall apart

The ownership split is the argument against every menu-price site covering this brand.

Franchise Times placed Whataburger 28th in its Top 400 for 2025 on global sales of $4,122,400,000, with 1,085 total units of which 206 are US franchised. That leaves 879 — about four in five — operated by the company. Unit growth was 8.8% and sales growth 9.4%. The estate has moved on since that ranking. Whataburger's own press material put it at over 1,200 restaurants across 17 states on 18 August 2026, and the company publishes no ownership split, so the four-in-five figure is the ranking's rather than Whataburger's.

Checked on 19 August 2026, four aggregators gave four answers for a plain Whataburger: $3.00, $3.09, $5.19 and $6.52. The page quoting $3.09 was last modified in October 2023 and does not say so anywhere a reader would look, which puts that figure outside any 2026 band. One of the two claiming a 2026 refresh printed $6.52 in one table and $4.79 in another on the same page, and put the Whatameal at $10.64 in one place and $7.79 in the other. The Whataburger Jr. lands between $2.19 and $3.79 across the same four. A different set of four lists, used on the menu prices page here, clusters the same burger between $5.19 and $5.79.

At a heavily franchised chain a two-fold spread is at least arguable, because hundreds of independent owners genuinely do price differently. Here 879 of 1,085 restaurants answer to a single pricing function. A range from $3.00 to $6.52, with one end of it three years old, is not the market disagreeing with itself; it is four websites copying one another at different points in time, and none of them checking.

Three code lengths, three windows, three prizes

WhataburgerVisit, usually reached at whataburgervisit.com, asks for the survey code from the receipt together with the date, time and store number. Some receipts accept the location's zip code where no code is printed. It runs in English and Spanish.

The published detail collapses from there. Guides state the code as 16 digits and as 18. They give the window as 3 days, as 5 days and as 7 days. They give the prize as $100, as $250 and as $1,000, variously described as a gift card, as a free menu item conditional on an accompanying purchase, and as a sweepstakes entry. Each figure is stated as fact and none of the pages cites Whataburger.

Search the topic and the results include domains such as whataburgervisit.autos, whataburgervisit.cam and whataburgervisit.store, every one confident and every one different. Three code lengths cannot all be correct. The receipt in your hand is the only document that knows which applies to your visit, and it is also the only one that will say whether what you get back is a validation code or an entry into a draw.

Corpus Christi, San Antonio and BDT Capital Partners

Whataburger opened in Corpus Christi, Texas in August 1950, founded by Harmon Dobson. The head office moved to San Antonio, Texas in 2009. BDT Capital Partners acquired a majority stake on 14 June 2019, with the Dobson family retaining a smaller holding, and Whataburger Restaurants LLC remains the operating entity.

The chain is still strongly regional, concentrated in Texas and across the South. That is part of why its receipt survey attracts less careful documentation than the national chains: fewer people checking, and more room for one copied figure to stand unchallenged for years.

Where the employer question lands

Because 206 of the 1,085 units in that ranking are franchised, roughly one Whataburger restaurant in five has a franchisee as the employer rather than Whataburger Restaurants LLC. That is the inverse of the pattern at most large burger chains, where the franchised share is the overwhelming majority, and it means the standard franchise-restaurant advice applies here to a minority of locations rather than to the default case.

The test is identical either way. Read the employer name at the top of the pay stub. If it is not Whataburger Restaurants LLC, then the payroll system, the pay calendar and the W-2 belong to whoever is named there, and no corporate helpline can reach into that system on your behalf.

What this site does not do

HelpMeLogin runs no Whataburger survey or portal and has no login form. It cannot retrieve a survey code, reissue an expired validation code, or enter anyone into a sweepstakes. A page that promises a gift card and then asks for a card number or a fee is not the Whataburger survey, however closely the domain resembles it.

HelpMeLogin is an independent informational site and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Whataburger or Whataburger Restaurants LLC. HelpMeLogin operates no survey portal and no login form. Survey terms, rewards and prices are set by the operator and change without notice.
