Completing the Aldi satisfaction survey offers entry into a sweepstakes for a $100 Aldi gift card, with 26 winners drawn per period for a total approximate retail value of $2,600. The December 2025 period ran from 1 December to 31 December with the drawing on 10 January 2026. Entrants must be 18 or over.
Set that against Lowe's, the other large retailer survey covered here. The Lowe's 2026/2027 rules award five prizes of $500 each month, $2,500 against Aldi's $2,600. Almost identical money, handed to 5 people instead of 26. Which is better depends entirely on what you want out of a draw, and no page that quotes only the headline prize figure will let you make that comparison.
The entry rule is where Aldi is unusually strict. The online survey needs a receipt carrying a unique survey code, receipts cannot be reused, and there is no store-number or visit-date fallback of the kind several chains allow. No receipt, no online survey. The mail-in entry — a hand-printed 3 by 5 inch card — removes the purchase requirement, but it enters you in the sweepstakes only and is not a way into the survey itself. There is no Aldi employee portal to write about
This hub carries one spoke, and that is deliberate. An Aldi employee portal page was researched for this site and abandoned, because the material does not exist.
A search restricted to aldi.us on 19 August 2026 returned careers.aldi.us — a recruitment site with job listings, an applicant privacy policy and a talent community sign-in — together with a customer account login and a careers FAQ. No pay stub portal. No W-2 self-service address. Nothing resembling the former-associate page Lowe's publishes with its employer code and support hours, or the pay stub portal Dollar General staff reach through single sign-on.
The absence is the finding, and it is worth stating plainly instead of filling the gap with a guessed portal name. For an employer running 2,624 US stores, the practical route to a pay record runs through store management and whatever system the division uses. Anyone publishing a confident Aldi login address is describing something Aldi does not document.
The quarter, the 12-cent bag, and what they are actually for
The quarter deposit on a shopping cart is $0.25, refunded when the cart is returned to the corral. It is not a charge. It is a mechanism that removes the labour cost of collecting carts from the parking lot, and that saving is part of why the shelf prices are what they are.
Bags work on the same principle. Aldi charges about $0.12 for a paper bag and around $1.09 for a reusable one, and it stopped offering plastic bags entirely by June 2023 — the first major US grocer to do so, with then chief executive Jason Hart putting the effect at almost nine million pounds of plastic kept out of circulation each year. Bring your own or pay per bag; there is no free option at the register.
Both are the same idea applied twice. Costs that other grocers absorb and recover invisibly through shelf prices are pushed back to the shopper here as a small, visible, avoidable charge.
Two companies, one name, and Trader Joe's
Aldi is two separate businesses sharing a name. The Albrecht brothers split the company in the early 1960s. The US shops covered here belong to ALDI Süd, which opened the first American stores in 1976 and runs them from Batavia, Illinois. ALDI Nord bought Trader Joe's from Joe Coulombe in 1979 and owns it still.
So the two chains are corporate cousins rather than rivals — and neither the Aldi survey nor an Aldi gift card has any connection to Trader Joe's, which surprises people who assume a shared loyalty scheme exists.
The US estate stood at 2,624 stores across 39 states and Washington D.C. in January 2026, with more than 180 new stores planned across 31 states during 2026, including nearly 80 conversions of former Winn-Dixie and Harveys sites. The company expects roughly 2,800 stores by the end of 2026 and about 3,200 by 2028. Stores are company-operated rather than franchised, so survey terms are set once and hold nationally.
