Wendy’s Survey at WendysWantsToKnow.com — What You Need

The Wendy's survey runs at WendysWantsToKnow.com, also reachable at TalkToWendys.com. You need three things printed near the top of your receipt: the restaurant number, the date, and the time of your visit. There is no separate survey code field. It takes three to five minutes and ends with a validation code that you write on the receipt and bring back on your next visit.

How to take the survey

  1. Find the three fields on your receipt

Look near the top, above the itemised order: restaurant number, date of visit, time of visit. If one is unreadable the form rejects the entry, and thermal paper fades — photograph the receipt the same day.

  2. Type wendyswantstoknow.com into the address bar

Type it rather than tapping a forwarded link. wendyswantstoknow.com and talktowendys.com load the same survey. First screen offers English or Spanish.

  3. Enter the restaurant number, date and time

Some guides call the restaurant number an eight-digit code; it is the same number. Enter date and time exactly as printed, including AM or PM.

  4. Answer the questions

Order accuracy, taste and temperature, staff, cleanliness, speed, value. Rating scales with a text box at the end. No account, no app.

  5. Write the validation code on your receipt

It appears on the final screen. Write it on the paper in pen. Once the page closes it is gone — no email copy, no way back in.

  6. Bring the receipt back

Hand the marked receipt to the cashier on your next visit at the same location. Most offers require a purchase, commonly a drink and fries.

If something goes wrong

The form rejects my restaurant number

Cause
A zero read as a capital O, or the street address number typed instead
Fix
The restaurant number sits with the date and time near the top, not in the address block. Digits only.

It says my receipt has expired

Cause
More than 7 days since the visit printed on the receipt
Fix
Nothing recovers it. The window runs from the visit date, not from when you first tried.

I closed the page before writing the code down

Cause
It is displayed once, in-session, with no email copy
Fix
Unrecoverable, and the receipt is spent. Customer service cannot reissue it.

The cashier would not accept my code

Cause
A purchase condition you did not meet, a different location, or an aged-out code
Fix
Check the offer line and redeem at the restaurant number printed on the receipt.

My receipt has no survey invitation on it

Cause
That franchise location is not running the survey offer
Fix
No workaround. Wendy's customer service still takes feedback, but no reward attaches to it.

What’s fixed, and what actually varies

Guides contradict each other on the reward, the coupon expiry and the eligible countries — and Wendy's publishes none of those figures itself.

Fixed

  • The three receipt fields: restaurant number, date, time
  • The 7-day window after your visit
  • One survey per receipt
  • You must be 18 or older
  • Wendy's employees and their household are excluded
  • The validation code is written on the receipt, not emailed

Varies

  • The reward. Dave's Single, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Jr. Cheeseburger and Frosty all appear, by period and location
  • Whether a purchase is required — commonly a medium drink and fries, but the offer sets it
  • Coupon life once written: one guide says 14 days from issue, another 14 to 30 days
  • Eligible countries. Some sources say US residents only; another lists the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico
  • The sweepstakes prize. Wendy's publishes no figure; guides report $500 per survey period, one putting it at twelve prizes and $6,000 total
  • Participation — franchise locations are not obliged to run the offer

Your own receipt is the authority, not any guide including this one. The offer prints just below the survey invitation and names your reward and any purchase condition. No survey invitation means that location is not running the offer.

How Wendy's compares

Receipt surveys look interchangeable until you try two. The deadline is where they diverge.

ChainWhat you enterWindowTypical reward
Wendy'sRestaurant number, date, time — no separate code7 daysSandwich or Frosty, usually with purchase
McDonald's26-digit survey code, or store no. + date + time + order no.7 daysFree item, BOGO or discount
Burger KingSurvey code from the receipt48 hoursWhopper or chicken sandwich

Rewards vary by location and period; your receipt overrides this table.

Wendy's is the only one of the three with no code to mistype, which also means a faded receipt is unusable — there is no fallback identifier. Burger King's 48 hours is roughly a fifth of Wendy's, so a habit built on Wendy's receipts quietly loses you every BK offer.

The prize nobody can source

The company's own survey site is silent about the reward. Checked on 19 August 2026, wendyswantstoknow.com asks for the restaurant number, then the date, then the time, and links out to a privacy policy and a terms of service. There are no sweepstakes rules on it, no prize amount, no winner count and no entry period. Every $500 figure in circulation comes from a third-party guide rather than from the page running the draw.

That silence is what makes the guides diverge. One states a $500 grand prize for each survey period, twelve prizes in all, and $6,000 in total value. Another quotes the $500 with no winner count. Eligibility splits the same way: some restrict entry to legal residents of the United States, another adds Canada and Puerto Rico to the United States. On the coupon, one source says 14 days from issue, a second says 14 to 30 days. None of it can be checked against a published rules document, because there does not appear to be one.

That absence is also what imitators trade on: a draw with no official prize page is an easy one to invent a prize for. The genuine survey asks for three things printed on paper and nothing else. It never asks for a card number, never charges a fee to release a prize you have supposedly won, and never arrives unprompted as a link in a text message. If a page asks for payment information at any point, close it. The Wendy's Menu Evaluation Sweepstakes, whatever it is worth, is entered through the survey itself.

Questions people ask

Do I need a receipt to take the Wendy's survey?

Yes. The survey opens with the restaurant number, the date and the time from a Wendy's receipt. The receipt also has to carry a survey invitation, which not every location prints.

How long do I have to take the survey?

Seven days from the visit date on the receipt. The clock runs from the visit, not from when you open the survey.

What free item do I actually get?

It depends on your receipt. Dave's Single, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, a Jr. Cheeseburger and a Frosty all appear, usually with a required purchase such as a medium drink and fries.

Can I take the survey more than once?

Once per receipt. A new visit produces a new receipt and a new entry.

Is TalkToWendys.com the same as WendysWantsToKnow.com?

Yes, both load the same survey. Wendy's prints the two names interchangeably on receipts, which is why guides use them inconsistently.

What is the $500 sweepstakes?

The Wendy's Menu Evaluation Sweepstakes is entered through the survey. Wendy's own survey site publishes no rules and no prize figure; the $500 comes from third-party guides, one reporting twelve prizes and $6,000 total. Treat it as unverified.

Can Wendy's employees take the survey?

No. Wendy's associates and members of the same household are excluded.
