- HelpMeLogin is not Dollar General and is not your employer. It runs no portal, hosts no login form and cannot release a W-2. Only your employer can.
- HelpMeLogin is not a tax adviser. For anything past where the form lives, ask a qualified adviser or the IRS on 800-829-1040.
- Never enter your Social Security number on a page reached from a text message or a search ad. No legitimate portal charges you to view your own W-2.
- Do not fabricate a W-2. Filing on invented figures is a federal offence, and services ranking for this search sell blank templates. Form 4852 exists instead.
A Dollar General W-2 is due by January 31, which falls on a Sunday for the 2026 tax year and so moves to February 1, 2027. Pay records live at paystubportal.com/dollargeneral, operated by Money Network rather than by the retailer. What the company publishes nowhere findable is a former-employee route, a payroll phone line, or anything about the mailing address the form is posted to.
What you need
9 itemsHow to get it
Fix the address before you touch a login screen
A W-2 posted to a flat you left in October comes back to the employer, and nothing about that looks wrong until February. If you moved during the year, tell your store manager in writing and keep a copy. Do it early.
Work out whether you were paid on a Money Network card
The route former employees miss most often. Wages paid onto a payroll card leave the records with the card operator, and that operator runs the pay portal too.
Sign in at the pay stub portal, expecting to re-register
Opened on 22 August 2026, paystubportal.com/dollargeneral presented as Money Network's Pay Stub Portal, taking a User ID and Password, under a notice that all employees must re-register. An old login failing there is expected.
Ask your store before the end of January
The IRS says to contact the employer first if nothing has arrived by then. Your store manager can confirm the address held. Dollar General publishes no payroll telephone number, so the store is the practical route.
After the end of February, call the IRS on 800-829-1040
Have ready your name, address with ZIP code, date of birth and Social Security number, your dates of employment, and the employer's name and address. The Internal Revenue Service then contacts the employer and asks for the form.
If something goes wrong
My old User ID no longer works
- Cause
- The portal now requires everyone to register again
- Fix
- Use Register Now. On 22 August 2026 the notice said all employees must re-register, including anyone registered before.
The pay portal says nothing about tax forms
- Cause
- The sign-in page carries no tax content
- Fix
- Correct, and it does not mean the documents are absent behind it. Nothing public describes what a signed-in account holds.
I rang 1-877-463-1553 and reached customer service
- Cause
- That is what the company's own site publishes it as
- Fix
- It is listed for people struggling with the website or apps. Treat any number a guide calls a Dollar General HR line as unverified.
It is February and nothing has arrived
- Cause
- A stale mailing address, or the form not yet sent
- Fix
- Confirm the address held for you first. After the end of February, call 800-829-1040 and the IRS contacts the employer for you.
I transferred between stores during the year
- Cause
- Same employer, different location
- Fix
- One W-2 covers the year, because the stores are company-operated rather than franchised. If two arrive, both belong on your return.
What’s fixed, and what actually varies
The federal half of this is settled and public. The Dollar General half is largely unpublished, which is why guides invent it.
Fixed
- W-2s must be furnished by January 31 — February 1, 2027 for tax year 2026
- The IRS line is 800-829-1040, and it contacts the employer for you
- Form 4852 lets you file without the form, on final pay stub figures
- Form 1040-X amends the return if the real W-2 later differs
- The pay portal is operated by Money Network, not by the retailer
- 1-877-463-1553 appears on the company's own site as Customer Support
Varies
- Whether portal access survives after you leave — nothing published says
- Whether a reissued copy carries a fee
- How long a request takes in January, the busiest month for this
- Whether your final wages went to a bank account or a payroll card
- Which address the company still holds for you
Two things settle most of it. Your final pay stub carries the year-to-date wages and withholding Form 4852 needs, and names the employer exactly as the W-2 will. For the address, ask the store: nobody writes to say a form came back.
How Dollar General compares
The IRS process is identical everywhere. What differs is how much the employer publishes about its own half.
| Chain | Where the W-2 lives | Former-employee route | Payroll contact on its own site |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dollar General | The pay portal, run by Money Network | Nothing published | None found — one number, for Customer Support |
| Walmart | mytaxform.com for former associates | Direct, using an employer code | People Services, 1-800-421-1362 |
| Target | Workday, under Menu then Tax Forms | paperlessemployee.com/target | HR Operations Center, 800-394-1885 |
| Kroger | MyInfo, never MyTime | A former-associate records request | None — HR gets a postal address |
Access windows and support routes are set by each employer and change without notice.
Walmart and Target each hand a departing worker a named site and a staffed number, so a January problem has somewhere to go. Dollar General publishes neither, pushing every question back to a store manager with a shop to run.
A form that goes to an address you may have left
Most guides treat a missing W-2 as an access problem. Get into the portal, they say, and the form is there. For a company-operated retailer that pays wages onto cards, the more common failure is duller: the envelope went to the wrong address, months ago, and nobody told anyone.
What makes it worse is how little there is to appeal to. Read on 22 August 2026, paystubportal.com/dollargeneral loaded as Money Network Financial's Pay Stub Portal, asking only for a User ID and Password, under a notice that every employee must re-register. Nothing on that page mentions a W-2, a tax document or a former employee. That is a fact about the public page rather than about the account behind it.
Elsewhere the silence is broader. No employee or payroll contact appears on the retailer's own site. The single number it does publish, 1-877-463-1553, sits on its accessibility statement, described there as Customer Support for people having difficulty with the website or apps. Guides ranking for DGME reprint it as an HR line; the company does not.
So the federal side carries it. Employers must furnish Copies B, C and 2 of Form W-2 by February 1, 2027 for the 2026 tax year, and where nothing has arrived by then the IRS says to go back to the employer before doing anything else at all. Past the end of February the Internal Revenue Service takes over, contacts the employer and sends Form 4852.
Around 194,000 people work across 20,959 stores, and Dollar General Corporation, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee, publishes nothing that beats telling your store manager where you now live.
Questions people ask
When must my Dollar General W-2 be sent?
By January 31, moving to the next business day at a weekend. For the 2026 tax year that is February 1, 2027, since the 31st is a Sunday. Federal law, not company policy.
Where do I get it online?
Pay records sit at paystubportal.com/dollargeneral, run by Money Network. Its public sign-in page says nothing about tax documents, so what a signed-in account holds cannot be confirmed from outside.
Can former employees still get one?
No published route says how. If your final wages went onto a payroll card, that operator also runs the pay portal. Otherwise ask the store: the duty to furnish the form does not depend on a login.
Which phone number should I use?
Not the one most guides give. Dollar General's own accessibility statement lists 1-877-463-1553 as Customer Support for website and app problems, and no payroll line appears on its site.
What if it never arrives at all?
Confirm your address first, since that is the usual cause. After the end of February, call 800-829-1040; the Internal Revenue Service contacts the employer for you and sends Form 4852.
Can I file without it?
You can. Form 4852 substitutes for the W-2, using wages and withholding from your final pay stub. If the genuine form later differs, the IRS says you must amend with Form 1040-X.
