ALDI and Lowe's both hand the check to Stored Value Solutions; neither says so on the card.
Kroger's trap is the domain, Lowe's the 90-day clock, Target's two products in one aisle. ALDI's is quieter: a card it never issued, sold under its name.
What ALDI does not publish, and what fills the gap
Few retailers this size publish as little about themselves, and gift cards are where that shows.
Start with the address. Four ALDI URLs for this subject circulate: the help centre page, a short gift cards page, an older about-aldi path and a customer-service path. Only one reaches a live checker, which is why so many walkthroughs point at a dead page. Each guide tends to cite whichever address was live when it was written.
Then the checker. It is not ALDI's. It sits on storedvalue.com, run by Stored Value Solutions, which keeps a separate client path per country — aldi.usa, aldi.uk, aldi.au and aldi.sl. A card is scoped to the client that issued it, so one bought abroad returns nothing here. ALDI Süd operates the US stores; ALDI Nord has been legally separate since 1966 and has owned Trader Joe's since 1979. None of those cards reach each other.
Then the phone. GOBankingRates tells readers to ring their local branch. On the company's own recorded national line, store numbers are unlisted, a consequence of limited staffing and a low-cost model. There is no branch to call. The supplier page on ALDI's own site lists 26 division offices, including 1200 N Kirk Rd in Batavia, Illinois, and no national office.
Into that silence, guides pour numbers. One gift-card aggregator puts ALDI at 1,600 or more stores; ALDI's release of 12 January 2026 says it will reach nearly 2,800 by year end, heading for 3,200 by 2028. The same page asserts a 19-digit number and a 4-digit security code; the form specifies no length for either. On dormancy, though, the company is explicit: a card at $0.00 for over 90 days is deactivated and no longer reloadable, which retires the 30 days Aisle of Shame gives.
Where a company says nothing, the internet does not go quiet. It guesses confidently, then copies itself.
