The Walmart survey mail in entry is real, current and written into the official rules. Hand write your complete name, mailing address, phone number and date of birth on a postcard between 3½ x 5 and 4¼ x 6 inches, then post it to PO Box 228, Macedon, New York. It has to be postmarked by 30 October 2026 and arrive by 4 November. That card buys exactly what a completed survey buys: one entry.

Understand why the lane exists at all
American law will not let a purchase be the only way into a prize draw. A sponsor whose main route runs off a till receipt has to open a free one beside it, and the address in the rules is that free one.
Get the card size right, because it is specified
No smaller than 3½ x 5 inches and no larger than 4¼ x 6 inches. An index card clears the floor and a picture postcard sits inside the ceiling.
Hand write four things, and hand write them legibly
Complete name, mailing address, phone number and date of birth. The rules ask for handwriting and refuse mechanical reproductions, so forty printed cards are forty wasted stamps.
Address it exactly as the document prints it
2026 Walmart Sweepstakes, PO Box 228, Macedon, NY, 14502-0228. The promotion name on the first line is part of the address, because the box receives more than one.
Watch two deadlines rather than one
A write-in entry must be postmarked by 30 October 2026 and received by 4 November 2026. A card posted on the closing day can still miss the second date.
Remember what one card is worth
One entry per envelope or postcard, the same as one finished survey. The cap of 78 covers every route together, so cards and receipts draw on one allowance.
If something goes wrong
I have no receipt and thought that ended it
- Cause
- The receipt route is one of three, and the postal route needs nothing but a stamp
- Fix
- Write the card. It carries the same weight in the drawing as a survey finished with a perfect code.
I printed my details to save time
- Cause
- The rules ask for handwriting and refuse mechanical reproductions
- Fix
- Write it out by hand. A printed or photocopied card is void, however legible it looks.
My card is A6 and I am unsure it qualifies
- Cause
- There is a stated floor and a stated ceiling
- Fix
- Anything from 3½ x 5 inches up to 4¼ x 6 inches qualifies. A standard index card is inside the range.
I posted it on the closing day and heard nothing
- Cause
- Two deadlines apply and only one of them is the postmark
- Fix
- The card also has to arrive by 4 November 2026. Post it a week early.
Somebody told me the postal route is a myth
- Cause
- Most receipt surveys really do have no draw and therefore no free lane
- Fix
- This one does. The address, the card size and both deadlines are printed in the sponsor's own document.
A page asked me to pay a fee to submit an entry
- Cause
- No published clause permits a charge of any kind
- Fix
- Close it. Entry costs a stamp, and no legitimate draw sells you a place in itself.
What’s fixed, and what actually varies
The postal route is the best documented thing about this survey, because it exists to satisfy a legal test and lawyers wrote it.
Fixed
- The rules open NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN
- The write-in address is PO Box 228, Macedon, New York, under the promotion name
- A card must measure between 3½ x 5 and 4¼ x 6 inches and carry proper postage
- Postmarked by 30 October 2026 and received by 4 November 2026
- Each envelope or postcard counts as one entry, and copies are refused
Varies
- How long post takes to reach a New York PO Box from where you live
- Whether the next quarter reuses the same box, name and deadlines
- Whether a stamp is better spent than five minutes at survey.walmart.com
Each quarter brings a fresh document with a fresh promotion name on the address line. Open the rules on corporate.walmart.com before writing anything, and copy the address off the live version rather than off a card you wrote last time.
How Walmart compares
Three retailers with a genuine free lane, and three different ways of running it.
| Chain | Card the rules ask for | Where it goes | Status of the period |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walmart | 3½ x 5 to 4¼ x 6 inches | PO Box 228, Macedon, New York | Open, closing 30 October |
| Lowe's | 4 x 5 inches, in an envelope | Falmouth, Massachusetts | Open, one card per month |
| Aldi | 3 x 5 inches, division code needed | A PO Box in Georgia | The documented period has closed |
Addresses and deadlines are reissued with each promotion period. The live rules override this table.
Walmart is the only one of the three whose postal lane can be used today with a deadline you can read in advance. Lowe's runs twelve small windows instead of one large one, and the Aldi route belongs to a period that shut at the end of December.
Why the free lane exists, and what makes this one unusual
A postal entry route is not generosity. American sweepstakes law prevents a purchase from being the only way into a prize draw, so a sponsor running its main lane off a till receipt has to open a second lane that costs nothing. That second lane is why the phrase NO PURCHASE NECESSARY sits at the top of almost every genuine ruleset.
What makes this one worth a page is that it is live. Read on 25 August 2026, the sponsor's own document sets out method (iii) in plain terms: legibly hand write your complete name, mailing address, phone number and date of birth on a postcard or card no smaller than 3½ x 5 inches and no larger than 4¼ x 6 inches, add proper postage, and send it to 2026 Walmart Sweepstakes, PO Box 228, Macedon, NY, 14502-0228. Entries must be postmarked by 30 October 2026 and received by 4 November 2026. Each envelope or postcard counts as one entry. No mechanical reproductions are accepted.
That entry sits in the same pool as everybody else's. Five grand prizes of $1,000 and 750 first prizes of $100 are drawn on or about 9 November 2026, administered by American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co., Inc. for Walmart Inc. of Bentonville, Arkansas. By then a card writer and a survey finisher are indistinguishable.
One number decides whether the stamp is worth it. The cap is 78 entries per entrant across every route, so a weekly shopper reaches it on receipts alone, while somebody who never shops there can reach the same ceiling with a pen.
The practical warning is dull and matters. Two deadlines apply, not one.
Questions people ask
Is there really a mail-in entry for the Walmart survey?
Yes, and it is printed in the official rules as method (iii). A hand written card posted to PO Box 228 in Macedon, New York earns one entry, exactly as a completed survey does.
What has to go on the card?
Your complete name, mailing address, phone number and date of birth, hand written legibly. Nothing about a purchase, a receipt or a store number is asked for.
What size does the card have to be?
No smaller than 3½ x 5 inches and no larger than 4¼ x 6 inches, with proper postage. An index card or a picture postcard both fit.
When does it have to be posted?
Postmarked by 30 October 2026 and received by 4 November 2026. Both dates matter, and the second one is the one people miss.
Can I send several cards in one envelope?
Each envelope or postcard counts as a single entry, so a bundle gains nothing. Photocopied cards are refused outright.
Is a mail-in entry worth less than a survey entry?
No. Both produce one entry in the same drawing for the same prizes, and eligibility is identical: 18 or over, resident in the 50 states, the District of Columbia or Puerto Rico.
How many cards can I send?
The cap is 78 entries per entrant for the period, counting receipts, emailed invitations and posted cards together.
Will the address be the same next quarter?
The promotion name on the first line changes with the period, so copy the address from the live rules rather than an old card.
