A Starbucks survey without receipt is not the workaround it sounds like, because the US receipt survey stopped answering and no code opens it. The route that still runs needs nothing printed at all. There are published official rules for a Customer Experience Sweepstakes whose entry period runs to 30 September 2026, awarding one hundred $100 gift cards a month and asking for a registration form instead of a purchase.

What you need
11 itemsHow to take the survey
Stop hunting for the customer code
Nothing recovers a lost Starbucks receipt survey, because nothing recovers an intact one either. Typing mystarbucksvisit.com produced an InMoment error page on 25 August 2026, with a failed gateway lookup given as the reason.
Separate the two things people conflate
A retired programme asked for a customer code off the paper and paid a free drink. The other is a prize draw with published rules, a sponsor, an administrator and a dated entry period. Only the draw still accepts anybody, and it never wanted a receipt.
Read the entry period before you spend five minutes
The rules divide 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026 into twelve monthly entry periods, each drawn about six weeks later. August 2026 entries were set for a drawing on or about 11 September 2026.
Enter once, with a real postal address
The stated cap is one entry per person per monthly entry period, and two people may not share an email address. Registration asks for a first and last name, an email address and a home address. PO Boxes are refused.
Send the actual complaint somewhere it lands
A prize draw is not a complaints channel. Customer service at Starbucks takes comments about a visit whether or not anything was printed, pays nothing for them, and reaches the store faster than a form nobody there reads.
If something goes wrong
I threw the receipt away
- Cause
- The reward it pointed at no longer exists
- Fix
- Nothing has been lost. The entry link on those receipts returns a closure notice, so an intact one would have got you no further.
The customer code is smudged
- Cause
- Thermal paper fades, and the form will not open regardless
- Fix
- Retyping a guessed digit achieves nothing here. No fallback by store number or transaction time was ever published.
I never got an emailed invitation
- Cause
- Invitations go out selectively
- Fix
- That is why a second entry method exists. The registration form on the promotion site accepts anyone eligible, invitation or none.
The promotion site refused to load for me
- Cause
- Automated retrieval was answered with a 403 on 25 August 2026
- Fix
- A refused robot is not a broken page. Type the address from the rules document by hand and try it in an ordinary browser.
I entered twice in one month
- Cause
- The cap is one entry per monthly entry period
- Fix
- Extra attempts do not multiply your chances, and sharing an email address between two people is separately prohibited.
I only wanted to complain about a drink
- Cause
- A prize draw collects entries, not complaints
- Fix
- Customer service handles that with no code and no purchase, and a store manager can act on it the same week.
What’s fixed, and what actually varies
Two questions hide inside this one, and they have opposite answers.
Fixed
- The sweepstakes rules open with NO PURCHASE NECESSARY, in those words
- No receipt, customer code or store visit appears anywhere in them
- Starbucks Corporation of Seattle, Washington is named as sponsor
- Merkle Inc. of Southfield, Michigan is named as administrator
- Entry is capped at one per person per monthly entry period
- Entrants must be 18 or over and live in the 50 states or the District of Columbia
Varies
- Whether a US receipt still prints a survey invitation at all
- What a guide means by a Starbucks survey — the closed one or the draw
- How many entries a monthly period attracts, which sets the odds
- Whether the emailed invitation route reaches you in a given month
A single document settles this and it is four pages long. If a page promises a free drink for a code off your receipt, it is describing the programme that closed. If it names a sponsor, an administrator and dated entry periods, it is describing the draw, and the draw has never asked anyone for a receipt.
How Starbucks compares
Losing the paper costs nothing at one of these three and everything at the other two.
| Chain | Route without a receipt | What it pays | What it asks for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starbucks | The sweepstakes registration form | A $100 gift card, 100 drawn a month | Name, email, home address, age 18 |
| Chick-fil-A | None — the code is required outright | Nothing | A serial number the company will not waive |
| Dunkin' | None — the coupon comes out of the survey | Nothing | An invitation the franchisee decides to print |
Promotion periods lapse. A dated ruleset beats this table every time.
Chick-fil-A and Dunkin' both hang the reward on a code that only a receipt carries, so a lost till slip ends the matter. Starbucks is the odd one here: its instant reward has gone, and what replaced it in practice is a draw that never wanted the paper.
The receipt was never the ticket to the thing still running
Ask this of most chains and the answer is short: no code, no reward. The Starbucks case is stranger, because the reward everybody remembers has quietly stopped and something better documented has been running in its place.
The programme people ask about paid a free drink for a customer code near the end of a receipt. Typing mystarbucksvisit.com on 25 August 2026 produced an InMoment error reading "Sorry, the link used doesn't seem to be working", with a failed gateway lookup given as the reason and a 2026 copyright line at the foot. So the paper is worthless whether you kept it or not.
What Starbucks does publish is a ruleset for the Starbucks Customer Experience Sweepstakes. It names Starbucks Corporation at 2401 Utah Ave. S in Seattle, Washington as sponsor and Merkle Inc. at Southfield, Michigan as administrator. Its promotion period runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, split into twelve monthly entry periods with a drawing about six weeks after each closes. A hundred prizes go every month, each a $100 gift card, making 1,200 prizes and a total approximate retail value of $120,000.
The first line of that document answers this page. No purchase necessary, it says, and a purchase or payment of any kind will not increase your chances of winning. Nothing in it mentions a receipt, a store visit or a customer code. Two ways in are described: follow an emailed survey invitation, or go to the promotion site and fill in the registration form.
Eligibility is narrow in the usual ways. Entrants must be at least 18 and live in one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia, employees of the administrator and their households are excluded, and a potential winner who fails to return a signed declaration within five days forfeits. Loyalty is steadier: Starbucks Rewards earns Stars on purchases, which no draw matches for reliability.
Questions people ask
Can I take the Starbucks survey without a receipt?
There is no US receipt survey left to take. The entry link returns a closure notice, so an intact receipt and a lost one now get you to exactly the same place.
Is there any Starbucks reward route that skips the receipt?
Yes. The Customer Experience Sweepstakes accepts a registration form with no purchase, no code and no proof of a visit, and its rules say so in the first line.
What does that sweepstakes actually pay?
A $100 gift card. A hundred are awarded per monthly entry period, 1,200 across the promotion period, at a total approximate retail value of $120,000.
How long is it open?
The published promotion period runs from 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026, in twelve monthly entry periods, each drawn about six weeks after it closes.
How many times can I enter?
Once per monthly entry period. Two entrants may not share an email address, and the form refuses a PO Box in the home address field.
Who runs it, if not a store?
The sponsor is Starbucks Corporation and the administrator is Merkle Inc. No barista, shift supervisor or licensed store has anything to do with the draw.
Do I need to be a Starbucks Rewards member?
The rules set no membership condition. They require an entrant aged 18 or over living in the 50 states or the District of Columbia.
I just want to complain about my drink. What then?
Use customer service, which needs no code and pays nothing. It is the Starbucks feedback route that still reaches a store manager.
