- HelpMeLogin is not Spire and is not Piedmont Natural Gas. This site holds no utility account, no meter number and no payment method.
- A spell when the provider and the billing portal carry different names is exactly when disconnection scams work. A caller demanding immediate payment is not made genuine by knowing which company serves you.
- Type the address yourself. myaccount.spireenergy.com for Missouri, Alabama and Mississippi; piedmontng.com for Tennessee until Spire says otherwise.
- No prepaid card, wire or app transfer is a gas bill. A payment belongs on the utility's own site or on the number printed on the bill.
The Spire Energy login for Missouri, Alabama and Mississippi is myaccount.spireenergy.com, branded Spire Customer Connect. Tennessee is the exception. A $2.48 billion purchase of Piedmont Natural Gas's Tennessee business, bought from Duke Energy, closed on 31 March 2026 and brought more than 200,000 customers across — yet Spire's own Tennessee page still sends those customers to Piedmont's bill pay. Full transition to Spire systems is expected in 2027.

What you need

Find the state before you find the login
This is the whole trick. A Missouri, Alabama or Mississippi meter signs in at myaccount.spireenergy.com; a Tennessee meter does not, at least not yet.
Missouri, Alabama and Mississippi: register on Spire Customer Connect
myaccount.spireenergy.com handles bill pay, account management and usage under the Spire Customer Connect name.
Tennessee: pay where the bill still comes from
Piedmont Natural Gas bill pay on piedmontng.com is where Spire's Tennessee page points. That instruction sits on spireenergy.com/information-tennessee-customers, and it explains why a hunt for the Spire portal ends in confusion around Nashville.
Read the number off the right region
The Tennessee line is 800-752-7504, Mississippi is 877-945-5427, and 800-292-4008 covers central and northern Alabama along with the Mobile area.
If something goes wrong
myaccount.spireenergy.com cannot find my account and I am in Nashville
- Cause
- Tennessee accounts have not moved onto Spire systems
- Fix
- Nothing is wrong with the registration. The business belongs to Spire, Piedmont's system still holds the account, and the bill is paid at piedmontng.com/home/billing-and-payment/pay-bill.
The van in the street says Spire and the envelope says Piedmont
- Cause
- Rebranding and billing moved on different timetables
- Fix
- Vehicle branding began in mid-May 2026 and finished on 1 June 2026, well ahead of the systems. The Tennessee page says "Right now, this change requires no action on your part" and "Your bill will look the same for now."
I want the date Tennessee billing moves to Spire
- Cause
- Only the year is published
- Fix
- Full transition to Spire systems is expected in 2027. No day, no month, no cutover notice, so none is quoted here.
I called the Missouri number about a Tennessee account
- Cause
- The lines are regional, not national
- Fix
- Eastern Missouri is 800-887-4173 and western Missouri is 800-582-1234. A Tennessee account has its own line on 800-752-7504, open Mon-Fri, 6:30am to 6pm.
I rang the emergency number for a billing question and felt I had the wrong one
- Cause
- They are deliberately the same number
- Fix
- Each regional line is published as both the 24/7 gas-leak emergency contact and the customer service contact for that area. One number, two jobs.
What’s fixed, and what actually varies
The provider changed in Tennessee on a date. The billing system did not.
Fixed
- The Tennessee acquisition closed 31 March 2026 for $2.48 billion
- myaccount.spireenergy.com is Spire Customer Connect
- Tennessee bill pay currently sits on piedmontng.com
- Each regional number is both the 24/7 gas-leak line and that region's service line
Varies
- Which portal holds your account, which depends entirely on your state
- When a Tennessee account moves onto Spire systems, expected in 2027 with no date published
- Service hours, from 6:30am in Tennessee to 8am in Alabama and Mississippi
- Whether the van outside matches the name on the envelope
Read the top of the paper bill. If it says Piedmont Natural Gas, the account still lives in Piedmont's system and the payment goes to piedmontng.com even though Spire owns the business.
How compares
Four accounts where the company that owns the service is not the company running the portal.
| Chain | Whose name is on the service | Who holds the account today | Where the payment actually goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spire | Spire, on Tennessee vehicles since 1 June 2026 | Spire Inc. owns it; Piedmont's system still bills Tennessee | myaccount.spireenergy.com, except Tennessee, which pays at piedmontng.com |
| Lakeview | Lakeview on the letter | One of five subservicers | Whichever subservicer your letter names |
| HSA Bank | HSA Bank | The deposits moved to a different bank | The same portal, with a new bank behind it |
| EDD card | California's benefit card | No longer the bank printed on the old card | The current issuer's own site |

Closing a deal moves the ownership on one day. Moving the billing takes years.
The deal closed in March; the billing system did not move with it
On 31 March 2026 Spire Inc. completed a $2.48 billion purchase of Piedmont Natural Gas's Tennessee business from Duke Energy. The release on investors.spireenergy.com puts the scale plainly: Spire Tennessee "serves more than 200,000 customers and includes nearly 3,800 miles of distribution and transmission pipelines," with more than 200 Piedmont employees transferring across.
That is the ownership. The plumbing moved on an entirely different clock.
Go to spireenergy.com/information-tennessee-customers and the instruction is to carry on paying Piedmont. The page reads "Right now, this change requires no action on your part" and "Your bill will look the same for now," and it links out to Piedmont Natural Gas bill pay on piedmontng.com. Full transition to Spire systems is expected in 2027.
So for roughly a year and a half after the closing, a Tennessee household's gas comes from one company while its bill and its payment page still carry another's name. The vans switched long before the software did: branding on vehicles started in mid-May 2026 and was finished by 1 June 2026, which is precisely the sequence that manufactures a confused customer. You see the new name every morning. You go looking for the new portal. It has no record of you.
And myaccount.spireenergy.com is a real portal, working normally, branded Spire Customer Connect, handling bill pay and usage for roughly 1.7 million customers. A Nashville household typing that address is not doing anything wrong. The account simply is not there yet.
The phone numbers carry a second surprise. One line is published per region, and each is simultaneously the 24/7 gas-leak emergency contact and the customer service contact for that area. The Tennessee number, 800-752-7504, keeps service hours of Mon-Fri, 6:30am to 6pm; emergency cover on that same number runs around the clock.
